Ghost Runner Privacy Policy

Effective date: 29 October 2026

Wolftrail Studio publishes Ghost Runner for Android (package com.wolftrail.ghost_runner). This policy describes the ad-supported release introducing Google AdMob, Google User Messaging Platform (UMP), and online update checks. Older releases without those features do not perform those features’ processing.

For privacy questions and requests, contact privacy@wolftrailstudio.com. For game support, contact support@wolftrailstudio.com.

Gameplay and information on your device

Ghost Runner does not provide accounts, login, chat, a player profile service, cloud saves, purchases, or a first-party gameplay analytics or crash-reporting service. Scores and the current run are held in memory. The app stores a minimum supported build number locally so it can apply a previously downloaded update rule while offline. Beginning with Android version 1.1.7 (19), the app does not ask for or store an age or date of birth, and removes the locally stored age band from earlier releases when advertising services start. Earlier ad-supported versions stored a selected age band locally. It also stores recent ad-impression timestamps locally to limit advertising frequency across restarts, keeping approximately the last hour for this purpose. Google’s SDKs store consent choices and other SDK data on your device. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes app-local information, subject to Android’s backup and restore behavior.

We do not request access to precise location, contacts, photos, camera, or microphone.

Advertising and Google services

Ghost Runner uses Google AdMob to show occasional interstitial ads between completed runs. Beginning with Android version 1.1.7 (19), the app uses general/unspecified age treatment without an age screen, and requests non-personalized ads after the regional UMP permission check. All ad requests use Google’s G maximum ad-content rating. Earlier ad-supported versions requested an age band before starting advertising services, did not start them for Under 16 or unknown selections, and applied teen treatment for selections aged 16–17. It does not use banner or rewarded ads. Google Mobile Ads SDK and its advertising partners may collect and share:

  • IP address, which may be used to estimate approximate location;
  • device and other identifiers, including the Android advertising ID when available;
  • app and advertising interactions, such as launches, ad impressions, taps, and video views;
  • diagnostics, such as performance information, crash logs, and technical details used to identify problems.

This information is used for advertising delivery and measurement, analytics, security, fraud prevention, and service operation. Beginning with Android version 1.1.6, all eligible ad requests are non-personalized, including adult requests; earlier versions may allow personalized advertising for adults according to consent and applicable law. AdMob controls restrict sensitive and adult-oriented advertising categories where available, but classification is best-effort and does not guarantee every individual creative. Non-personalized advertising may still use identifiers for frequency capping, aggregated reporting, fraud prevention and security. Declining personalization does not necessarily stop all processing: limited or non-personalized advertising may still require technical, contextual, security, and measurement information. Ads are requested only when Google UMP indicates that they may be requested.

Google and advertising partners process data under their own policies. See Google’s Privacy Policy, how Google uses information from apps using its services, and Google’s advertising partners.

Consent and privacy choices

The app requests updated consent information at launch through Google UMP and displays applicable regional messages. Where available, these allow you to consent, decline, manage advertising options, or make choices under applicable US state privacy laws. Settings shows Privacy Choices when Google requires that entry point. You can reopen it to review or change available choices. Privacy Policy is always available in Settings.

You can also manage or delete/reset your advertising ID in Android settings, where supported. Available choices vary by region and device. Consent or privacy-message failures do not prevent gameplay; advertising remains subject to the SDK’s permission check.

Update checks and website requests

The app requests a small update-policy file from wolftrailstudio.com over HTTPS at launch and when returning to the foreground. This sends ordinary network metadata, including your IP address, to our website hosting provider, Cloudflare. The policy is compared with the installed build number locally; the app does not send your score or create an account for this check. A previously downloaded minimum version can require a Google Play update before play resumes. A first offline launch without a cached rule cannot enforce an unknown rule.

Opening the Privacy Policy or Google Play takes you to your external browser or store app, whose services process requests under their own policies. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.

Support communications

If you email us, we and our email service providers process your email address, message, attachments you choose to send, and related correspondence to respond and handle support or privacy requests. Please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information.

Legal bases and disclosures

Where GDPR or similar rules apply, processing may rely on consent where required for advertising technologies, legitimate interests in operating and securing the app and responding to requests, and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent through available privacy controls without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.

Data may be disclosed to Google and its advertising partners, website and email service providers, and authorities where legally required. We do not operate a first-party player-data marketplace. Advertising partner processing may constitute a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under some US state laws; use the available regional controls to exercise applicable opt-out rights.

Retention, security, and international processing

We retain support correspondence only as needed to handle the request, maintain necessary records, and meet legal obligations. We do not set or promise a fixed retention period for Google, advertising partners, hosting providers, or email providers; their policies and applicable agreements govern their retention. Removing app-local data does not automatically delete information already processed by these providers.

Network requests use HTTPS. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Providers may process information in countries outside your own, including countries with different privacy laws, using applicable transfer safeguards where required.

Audience and younger users

Ghost Runner is a general arcade game intended for teenagers and adults, and is not specifically designed for children. Beginning with Android version 1.1.7 (19), it does not ask an age question, collect a date of birth, or maintain an age profile. G-rated and non-personalized advertising are safety settings and do not mean the game is directed to children. Earlier ad-supported versions used a neutral age-band screen and disabled advertising services for Under 16 and unknown selections; that selection stayed on the device.

The game can make the update-policy network request described above. Opening an external policy page or contacting support involves the hosting or email processing described in this policy. We do not knowingly use children’s information for targeted advertising. If a parent or guardian believes a child has provided personal information, contact privacy@wolftrailstudio.com so we can assess and address the request.

Your rights and requests

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, obtain a copy of data, withdraw consent, opt out of qualifying sale/sharing or targeted advertising, and complain to your local data-protection authority. We will assess requests under applicable law and may ask for information needed to verify and fulfil them. You may contact us about an appeal if we decline a request where an appeal right applies.

Email privacy@wolftrailstudio.com. We do not have an account or gameplay database to search by player identity, and may be unable to identify SDK-held data ourselves. We can explain the available provider controls and direct you to relevant provider request channels. Do not send passwords or identity documents unless specifically necessary and arranged securely.

Changes

We may update this policy when app features, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current policy. Material changes that require renewed consent will be handled through the applicable consent mechanism.
